Accelerating AI safety talent at scale

Agus is Co-Founder and Co-Director of Kairos.

He is a generalist and software engineer who has been involved in the AI safety space for the past several years. He led digital projects for a transparency nonprofit, América Transparente, built models for cost-effectiveness evaluations for Rethink Priorities, and kickstarted support for AI safety groups at the Centre for Effective Altruism. Agus has worked across a wide range of projects and organizations, spanning areas such as public policy and cybersecurity. He studied computer science engineering at UC Chile.

Neav is Co-Founder and Co-Director of Kairos.

He is a generalist and builder with a strong passion for entrepreneurship and AI safety. Before starting Kairos, Neav worked at large tech companies such as Akamai Technologies as well as at small startups, taking on roles across marketing, analytics, talent, and operations. In addition to his professional roles, Neav has been involved in building several long-lasting communities. He holds a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University.

Rebecca handles internal operations and grantmaking logistics at Kairos.

Previously, she worked in operations at METR and Open Philanthropy, handling nonprofit and grantmaking compliance, HR, and other administrative functions. She also has a background in community building and event planning. Rebecca holds a BA in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University.

Antonia handles operations for SPAR, Pathfinder, and the Global Challenges Project.

Before joining Kairos, she spent over three years on the groups team at the Centre for Effective Altruism and worked in grants administration at Effective Ventures. Antonia studied Hispanic Literature and Linguistics at UC Chile.

Jeremy runs the Pathfinder Fellowship, Kairos's mentorship program for AI safety university group organizers.

He is a software engineer and fieldbuilder with a background in AI safety community building. Before joining Kairos, he directed the Wisconsin AI Safety Initiative, where he led a team of 22 organizers coordinating technical programming and outreach at UW-Madison, and he has mentored organizers through the Pathfinder Fellowship since 2024. He has also worked as a software engineer at Arrows, and holds a BS in Computer Science and Data Science from UW-Madison.

Jesse helps run SPAR, Kairos's research mentorship program, and works across hiring and program infrastructure.

He is a generalist with an engineering background and experience in AI safety fieldbuilding. Before joining Kairos, he was a member of technical staff at CivAI, where he worked on demonstrations to communicate AI risk. Earlier, he interned at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, Advent Technologies, and Cleo Robotics across mechanical R&D and automation engineering. Jesse holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from Tufts University.

Sam leads the Global Challenges Project at Kairos, where he runs intensive workshops that help people around the world think critically about AI safety and biosecurity and build careers tackling them.

He previously worked on the chem/bio team at the UK AI Security Institute, where he managed evaluation development and testing sprints for frontier AI models. Earlier, he worked in British politics and founded Arcadia Impact, an AI safety fieldbuilding organization in London. Sam holds a BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from UCL.

Rob leads operations at Kairos.

Before joining Kairos, he was CEO of Effective Ventures UK, where he set up and spun out 11 organizations into independent entities. Earlier, he led the groups team at the Centre for Effective Altruism and spent eight years in consulting at McKinsey and Deloitte. Rob holds a first-class master's in engineering science from the University of Oxford.

Helena helps run operations at Kairos.

Before joining Kairos, she was Business Operations Manager at the Centre for Effective Altruism, where she project-managed CEA's spinout into an independent organization, and spent five years at Effective Ventures as Head of People Operations and Grants Manager, supporting its grantmaking. Earlier, Helena worked in operations at the Portuguese energy company EDP and as a financial auditor at KPMG. She holds a master's in business from the Nova School of Business and Economics.

Julian runs hiring and talent operations at Kairos.

As a Pathfinder fellow, he co-founded the University of Toronto's AI safety group, and as a SPAR researcher he developed a benchmark for agentic cheating on AI research tasks. He also built Toronto's first AI safety summer program. Julian studies Computer Science and Statistics at the University of Toronto, where he is a National Scholar.

Bryan runs Talent Commons, a talent directory for the AI safety ecosystem, and works on Kairos's broader talent operations.

He built Talent Commons as a resident in the Generator Residency, piloting it with Constellation and MATS. Before that, he was a founding engineer at Adaptional, a Y Combinator startup, and a research fellow at AI Safety Camp. Bryan studies Computer Science and Philosophy at UNC Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar.

Andrés leads SPAR, Kairos's research mentorship program.

Before joining Kairos, he was a machine learning engineer on the research team at Multiverse Computing, and earlier managed technical AI safety research teams at Meridian Cambridge. He came to Kairos through the Generator Residency. As a Chevening Scholar, he co-founded the Chevening in AI Network, a community of over 90 scholars across 30 countries. He also started two companies and held management positions in industry. Andrés holds a first-class master's in speech and language processing from the University of Edinburgh.

Skye is a generalist working across Pathfinder, SPAR, and Kairos's internal operations.

Previously, they studied Computer Science and Philosophy at the University of Oxford, where they helped run the Oxford AI Safety Initiative and researched the values of open-source language models with the university's HIP Lab.

Aryan builds software across Kairos's programs and internal tools.

He is an undergraduate studying Computer Science and Mathematics at Yale, where he leads engineering for CourseTable, the university's main course discovery platform. As a SPAR research fellow in Fall 2025, he conducted mechanistic interpretability research, resulting in a first-author paper at an ICML 2026 workshop. He has also interned as a software engineer at Two Sigma and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
